This is a crossover piece of a unique variety. It is an adaptation of the novel House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (pub. 2000), using setting and characters from the .hack games and anime. Although this is an adaptation, it is not a strict retelling of its source by any means.
I should caution that though I have made every effort to preserve canon --even though the majority of this was written prior to finishing //QUARANTINE, and I have yet to read or see //Udeden-- the amount of data available on the .hack series is quite vast, and often difficult to acquire. Therefore I apologize for any discrepencies that may appear in this work, although hopefully there exists nothing so grievous as to damage the integrity of the core storyline.
A file of Appendices will be updated concurrently with this story. Please consider consulting it first for any questions you may have.
A final note: this fanfic holds the rating of R:VL, meaning that it
is rated R (17 and older only) due to violence and language. You have been
